    • Notes  Married:
      • Witnessed by: George Burniston, Mary Greenhow & Thomas Wilson.

It stated William Wintersgill, Husbandman of Thornton le Street.
I can only presume as this is towards Thirsk and no where near East Witton, Colsterdale, William was living and working at Thornton le Street at the time.

I have so far not seen any other reference to William Wintersgill in Thornton le Street during or before this time period - but am aware there are a large number of Wintersgill in the surrounding Thirsk area ?

However this marriage does appear to fit with the baptism of John Wintersgill and Mary Wintersgill in Kirkby Malzeard and later records we have of William at Colsterdale Head, East Witton. see 1851 census. In his Will he mentions Husbandry.
