He states his parents are John Arthur and Mary Hinchcliffe but there is no record of this birth in Yorkshire and the Arthur Surname in Yorkshire is not common.
I believe he has changed his name - he does share a common ancestor with one BROOKS man from around c.1800 - but traditional research can find no man of this description.
