In the 1851 Census Martha Jane is listed as Grandaughter to William & Jane as Christopher was widowed I presumed she was his daughter. However in the 1861 Census it states Martha Jane as Daughter and a Son James born 1860 - therefore until I see the birth certificates I expect they will be children of Mary Brooks.
