- DNA Analysis via FTDNA from a Whincup descendant of George Whincup has led me to look at the HANCOCK Surname.
I know of one family of Hancock's in Wetherby found in the 1841 & 1851 census.
Anthony Hancock - born c.1799 Otley, Yorkshire a Silversmith/Watchmaker died 1855 married Elizabeth Horseman in Otley 24th March 1818.
As far as I can tell all his descendants died without issue and the line ended around 1900.
I am looking for more Hancock descendants from Derbyshire, in particularly descendants of Joseph Hancock & Mary Younge to compare YDNA via any living Male Hancock from the area or AT DNA via any descendant of them.
My Analysis so far includes YDNA matches with Hancock originating in West Yorkshire & London and AT DNA from descendants of Joseph Hancock's brother Anthony Hancock b.c 1772 with estimated 4th Cousin relationship with other members of my family.
